The Pilcer family
We are the Pilcer family.
My parents, Mitch and Suzy, came to Israel and found their way to Moshav Zippori, drawn by a wish to work the land and live a simple, good village life.
In 1993 they bought a special plot at the edge of the moshav from the Ornelas family, one of the founding families of the village, established in 1948.
They first planted pomegranate and olive groves, and soon after opened “Zippori Village B&B” the first guest cabins in the Galilee.
Over the years, the place grew to include an ecological pool, vineyards for wine grapes, and a small winery making hand-crafted wine.
Since the beginning, our farm has opened its doors to guests seeking quiet moments in powerful nature. Today I continue my parents’ path and plant new roots in this land.

Ancient Sepphoris
Zippori (Sepphoris) is an ancient city in the Lower Galilee, known as the "ornament of all Galilee," featuring a rich history as a major Jewish, Roman, and Byzantine center. It served as the Galilee's capital, was the birthplace of the Mishna, and is considered the traditional home of Mary's parents, known today as a national park with extensive mosaics and ruins.
Meaning of Tessera
We chose the name Tessera for its connection to history and roots. A tessera is a small piece of stone, glass, or ceramic, usually square, used as the basic unit in a mosaic. Inspired by the ancient mosaics of Sepphoris, the Tessera Tzipori venue looks out over the archaeological site and the old Crusader fortress, where mosaics from the Second Temple period were found.
Just as one small stone helps create a whole mosaic, our Tessera is one small piece in the wider mosaic of local makers and work in this place.
